Welcome to Synchapp Version 6.8: Streamlined Control, Reduced Noise, and Unified Experiences
We are thrilled to introduce Version 6.8, a release dedicated to Operational Precision. This update focuses on cutting through the noise—whether that’s administrative clutter, alert fatigue, or platform inconsistencies—to ensure that every interaction with Synchapp is purposeful and efficient.
In this version, we are bridging the gap between rigid administrative oversight and flexible user autonomy. We have completely unified the mobile settings experience across Android and iOS while giving Admins the power to pre-configure devices remotely. Simultaneously, we are introducing smart features designed to reduce cognitive load: from aggregating repetitive geofence alerts to filtering Dispatcher views for better focus.
Whether you are an Admin managing compliance, a Dispatcher coordinating a crisis, or a mobile user in the field, Version 6.8 provides the tools to customize your environment for maximum safety and minimum distraction.

Introducing Version 6.8 Key Features:
Settings update
The Admin Console now better presents mobile settings, and distinguishes between general settings and Android-only fields. Simultaneously, we have standardized the mobile experience across Android and iOS, ensuring that the Settings screen is virtually identical on both platforms. Field names, value options, and menu ordering—covering everything from Preferences and Sound Settings to Notifications and Appearance, have been aligned to create a unified interface. This consistency not only improves the user experience for mixed-device fleets but also significantly simplifies troubleshooting for Support and QA teams, as a single guide now applies accurately to all devices regardless of the operating system.
Personalized SOS Alert Notifications
We’re introducing more control over user notifications – to reduce alert fatigue. This new setting ensures that you only receive active alerts, when necessary. Previously, any time a connected user in your organization triggered an SOS alert, you would automatically receive both a visual and an audio notification. With this release, we’re adding a “Receive SOS alerts” setting, that allows mobile users to decide whether they wish to receive immediate sound and visual notifications for SOS events from their connected users. This functionality is accessible from the user’s settings screen within the mobile app. When the setting is Enabled (the default state), you will continue to receive the standard visual and audio alerts upon an SOS activation. If the setting is Disabled, you will not receive the intrusive sound or visual notifications, but the user’s SOS status will still be clearly visible within the app for quick reference.
Enable or disable splash TTS – Setting
We are enhancing user control over incoming notifications by introducing a dedicated toggle for Text-to-Speech (TTS) on splash alerts. This feature allows mobile users to determine whether the content of a splash message is read aloud automatically upon receipt. Whether you need hands-free situational awareness in busy environments or require silence during sensitive operations, this setting grants you the flexibility to adapt how high-priority information is delivered to you, ensuring you stay informed without unnecessary disruption.
Found within Settings > Sound Settings, this new option governs the voice readout for all non-silent splash messages, including critical alerts. While the feature defaults to ON to maximize immediate information delivery, users can disable it at any time. Importantly, turning this off suppresses only the spoken text; the urgency of the alert is maintained through the standard alarm tones and vibrations, ensuring that critical notifications are never missed, just heard differently.
SOS Trigger Delay Configuration
We are enhancing organizational control over safety protocols by introducing customizable SOS trigger delays: previously set to a fixed 20-second window, the grace period between pressing the SOS button and sending the alarm can now be configured directly within the Admin console. This allows organizations to define a specific cancel window that best aligns with their unique operational risks and safety policies, ensuring that the time allowed to cancel a false alarm is neither too short nor too long for their specific environment.
For mobile users, this update is seamless and automatic. All mobile clients will now respect the specific delay value defined by their organization, providing a consistent experience across the entire team. If a device is offline or a custom value hasn’t been set, the SOS trigger will default to the standard 20-second delay. This ensures that user safety is never compromised, while still adhering to the precise compliance needs of your organization.
Smart Geofence Alert Aggregation
We have refined the geofence notification experience to prevent “alert fatigue” for users operating near the boundaries of defined zones. Previously, minor GPS drifts could trigger repetitive entry or exit alerts, cluttering the screen and distracting the user. Now, the system intelligently detects and aggregates these overlapping notifications. If a new geofence message arrives before the previous one has been acknowledged, the app consolidates them into a single, clean prompt rather than stacking multiple separate pop-ups.
Aggregation only occurs for alerts stemming from the same geofence and the same trigger event (e.g., multiple “Entry” alerts for Zone A). When this happens, users will see a quantity counter indicating the number of alerts received (e.g., “x3”) alongside a convenient “Dismiss All” button. This allows users to acknowledge and clear repetitive notifications with a single tap.
Streamlined Dispatcher Visibility
We are introducing a focused Team-Based Visibility mode for Dispatchers, designed to eliminate operational noise and improve response efficiency. Dispatchers will now see and interact exclusively with the specific members or departments assigned to them within the Admin console. By filtering out irrelevant users from other divisions, we ensure that Dispatchers can concentrate entirely on their direct teams, reducing clutter and preventing accidental communication with the wrong personnel. This targeted visibility is applied comprehensively across the entire Dispatcher interface. Whether monitoring real-time locations on the Map, checking availability in the Status tab, or browsing the Address Book, the view remains consistently filtered to show only assigned personnel. Dispatcher visibility of organization members is restricted only to users assigned to them in Admin.
Bulk Transcript Management
Reviewing communication logs just became significantly faster with our new Bulk Transcript Management feature. Admins can now select multiple call recordings simultaneously from the recording list, generating a combined view of all associated transcripts instantly. This eliminates the tedious task of opening recordings one by one, allowing for a more efficient, high-level review of team communications and incident timelines. To further support documentation and compliance needs, we’ve added powerful bulk actions to this view. You can now Copy all selected transcripts to your clipboard or Download them as a single text file with a single click.
